FIND YOUR "JOY" AND SHARE IT WITH OTHERS...

I received an email today from a friend about finding your joy and sharing it with others...that made me think...what do I en'joy'? Taking photos of beautiful scenery came to mind...I like the whole process...finding the beautiful places to photograph...taking the photos...adjusting them in the computer and finally sharing them with friends and family! So, I was looking back through my millions of photos and picked a few to share...hoping you en'joy' them too!

A day in the life...not your average day at work!

It was a normal day at work...until Marilyn and Elvis
showed up! Much to the doctor's surprise! Dr. K had
made a educational DVD for breast cancer patients
and their families sponsored by a company that make
one of the drugs for the breast cancer patient. So,
when the DVD was finally ready for it's debut...guess
who shows up at the office...Marilyn and Elvis...we even
had a red carpet...all that was missing was "oscar"!
Needless to say...the doctor was very surprised and
just a little embarrassed! Or maybe I have that wrong.
He was a little surprised and very embarrassed!
He accepted his award graciously and was a very good sport!
P.S. Elvis really has the "hots" for me!

Decorating frenzy...the tree is up!

It was a cold and blustery saturday morning (actually clear skies...warm...almost summer like!)
and we were off to find the perfect Christmas tree! Within just a few minutes (actually walked in circles for quite awhile around the Christmas tree lot) we found "our" tree! Of course it was bigger than the living room would hold (height wise!) So, paid full price and then had the attendant cut a good foot off the bottom to accommodate our "limited" ceiling! Got it home and let it "rest" on the garage floor...allowing any little critters to escape before bringing it into the house! With a pull and a push it was upright in it's stand...(fastest tree we have ever put up...that stayed up... without leaning!) Then the task of lights, ribbon, bulbs...and more bulbs...and another trip to Kmart for more bulbs! This year we went with all new decorations...inspired by all the trees at the "Festival of Trees" at the mall! And even though I say it is finished...I think I'll slip into Kmart tomorrow for just a few more things! So, now we wait for Santa to bring some goodies...we've been pretty good this year...right, Santa?

A visit to the mall with MaKenna and Emilie to see the "Festival of Trees"!

This year we (my co-workers, family and friends) put together a tree with all the trimmings and gifts for the Altrusa International group from Santa Maria. Every year they hold the "Festival of Trees" in our mall...this year there are 51 decorated trees donated by many companies, organizations and individuals throughout the area. The theme of our tree was "A child is born..." ! We decorated the tree with blue and pink ornaments and lots of baby bottles, pacifiers, rattles etc. We also put assorted baby items that any new mom could possibly need under our tree! Now, for the next two weeks the public will come through and look at all the various Christmas trees and buy raffle tickets and pick the tree they would like to win! At the end of two weeks there will be the big raffle and all the trees will be given away (and all the gifts under the trees!)
P.S. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Altrusa International organization because they were the ones that paid for a surgeon to repair Naomi's cleft lip when she was 8 months old in China...God Bless those doctors and nurses!

Family Photo Shoot...with fall in bloom!

We all gathered at Lea's this weekend to capture the "essence" of our family! We had a beautiful backdrop of the trees in all their glory! These are a few of my favorites that were captured with my camera.

All the makings for a "fine" turkey feast!

It doesn't get much better than making your own chocolate cookie turkey and then feasting on it!
